A key effort to study and support AI use in these settings is the “AI in Action: Practical Applications for Safety Net Providers” monthly Zoom series. It is co-hosted by the Center for Care Innovations and the Health AI Partnership. One recent session, held in October 2025, collected data from 16 focus groups and 4 online bulletin boards with 172 participants across California. Most were from low-income and historically underserved communities. This research gave useful patient views on how they accept, trust, and worry about AI uses like ambient scribing, predictive analytics, and AI-driven triage.
